Vittorio Pozzi was born in Castiglion Fiorentino on November 15, 1859 and died in Siena on December 28, 1934. The deaf -mute, probably had to his impairment his strong artistic sense that led him to paint professionally and in particular to perform refined copies of the masterpieces exhibited in the main Tuscan galleries, in particular to the Uffizi. He resided in Florence and a family memory recalls that "he was pension up there, from Gina, on the third floor of a building in Borgo degli Albizzi where Pandolfini makes the auctions".
