The drawing has been declared of historical and artistic interest by the ministerial decree no. 202/2018, dated November 29, 2018
As evidenced by historical and artistic report accompanying the decree, the drawing is a certain work of Andrea Boscoli. The attribution has been confirmed by Anna Forlani, the scholar specialized in Boscoli, who recently passed away.
The subject cannot be identified as "the Judgment of Solomon" and remains unknown. The squaring indicates that, in all likelihood, the drawing was to be used for the execution of a painting.
