The drawing has been declared of historical and artistic interest by the ministerial decree no. 199/2018, dated November 29, 2018
The historical and artistic report accompanying the decree attributes the drawing to an anonymous artist from Central Italy; but the graphic modes, evidently deriving from Cambiaso, certainly identifies it as the work of a Genoese artist, perhaps Lazzaro Tavarone, a collaborator of Cambiaso in Spain, who on his return to Genoa in 1594 carried out an intense activity as fresco painter for the nobility and the Church.
